There is something very mesmerizing about watching the waves roll in and out when you are at the beach. It would be very easy to spend a lot of time just sitting on that log and listening to the seagulls and the sound of waves lapping on the shore. On this particular day, we were at Whidbey Island. Pulling on a raincoat and hiking boots, and I walked down to the beach area, leaving Gary at the condo. The sun was peeking through clouds, lighting up the beach with it's happy sunshine colors. I was out there quite a while taking pictures and what-not when the wind kicked up and it started get pretty nasty.
I haven't spent too much time on the island so I am not very savvy about the tides. I wasn't really aware the tide was coming in until I was ankle deep and the water was covering this entire beach area and getting deeper by the minute. My aunt used to say "it come up a storm," and boy did it ever! Do you see that hill on the left? Well, I had to make my way up that hill, to get out of the water and back to dry land. By the time I walked to the condo I was totally soaked to the bone and so cold from the wind and rain. It was quite the adventure, but hey, I got some nice pictures out of the afternoon. Are you a beach person or a mountain person? I'm definitely a mountain person, but a few days at the beach can be really fun!
The opera was very lively today, which aided in painting waves! "L’Elisir d’Amore (The Elixir of Love)" by Gaetano Donizetti.
Day 30 is in the books and I am in the homestretch. Thank you reading along!
Sending warm thoughts and love to you tonight.
