Who doesn't love aspen trees? I think they are one of the most magical trees in the kingdom. Maybe it's because of the white bark with the big eyes that seem to be looking in all directions. Or maybe it's that wonderful yellow the leaves turn in the fall. Happy green in the spring and yellow in the autumn. They just seem to radiate joy!
For Day 3 I chose this image, getting up close and personal with a stand of aspen. I called it "Sharing the Spotlight" because of the way the sun is hitting each tree, almost like they are taking turns sunbathing. Like all trees, each aspen tree is unique in size and shape and just how many polka dots they have. I really tried to simplify this scene, and work faster and smarter. I think maybe I will come back to this one for a larger painting later on. What do you think?
For the next 24 hour this painting is $50, after that it jumps to $90.
