Once planted and nurtured by loving hands, these honeysuckle bushes are growing on their own to the delight of the bees and others who wander through behind the old cabin. The delights and surprises of nature. I love to see the trunks intertwining and bent like my Grandmother's fingers as she would work the tiny stitches on her quilt. In the spring imagine the sweet fragrance of these bushes growing wild and free. It stops you in your tracks and you have to sniff around to find where it is coming from. Honeysuckle.
It seems that 5:30am isn't early enough to get up anymore. 25 days done and my lazy habits have changed for the better. There is a lot of business type things to do, then composing the painting as well as answering messages. It is really fun, but some days, like today, it is hard to jump on that springboard and fly into it all. Hey, we finished up Gary's Christmas CDs (I design and print all the artwork in the CD jewel case, as well as print our art on the CD itself.) So, that's all done and our Christmas cards came in today so we are ready! Do you still send out Christmas cards? Not too many people do anymore but we always enjoy getting them. Next thing to do tonight is to apply to an art show being held in a local coffee shop called Latte Da. I will be hanging two large paintings there for the month of December.
The opera today was Lakmé by Delibes. Jodie Devos was the coloratura soprano who truly had the voice of an angel.
Gary has left the building. I'm not sure if it's the opera music or the bagpipes. He is a dyed in the wool 60s rock and roll kinda guy. You know, he is a Buddy Holly; The Everly Brothers; Elvis and the Beatles kind of guy. He loves Chicago and the Eagles these days. So hearing the bagpipes playing "What Child is This" sent him to the basement. Or maybe to the store. I admit I have to turn the music down a bit. Why bagpipes you ask? Well, I recently found out that I'm 45% Scottish, so I was trying out the Scottish Highland music to see if I got any "feels" out of it, because it's in my DNA. I think I did!
Take care y'all and thanks for stopping by for a visit. We are on the downhill slide now!
Love you all,
Kristi
