A fresh snowfall on the mountains to the east of Flathead Lake in Montana left the hills sprinkled in powdered sugar. Overnight our view was changed and we saw this countryside from a new perspective. The things that could not be seen yesterday were exposed today. It was all so grand! The red barn was the extra special treat. For most of the day these mountains were wrapped in the snow-filled clouds. This watercolor was an instant in time when the clouds parted and the sun lit up the tops of the ridges.

We spent that day with Jesse driving through the CSKT Bison Range. It was a 2 hour drive on the dirt road up and around the hills of this 18,000 acres wildlife conservation area. We saw lots of bison, deer and even a bear which made the day so fun! Here is a picture looking back down the road we just drove up. Leaving there we stopped in St. Ignacias to see the murals at a mission and drove home up the east side of Flathead Lake. Wow, what gorgeous country!

Today's opera was Káta Kabanová by Leoš Janácek. Beautiful! And I listened to Romeo and Juliet ballet with music by Sergei Prokofiev.

What do you have planned for the weekend? I'm planning on coffee with a friend, then who knows, maybe I'll paint.

Hugs to you all,
Kristi
